The Well-Marked Low over Northwest Bay and adjoining North Odisha-West Bengal coast intensified into a Monsoon Depression and now lies near lat. 21.3°N and lon. 87.3°E at 12 noon (05 July 2026), about 510 km West-Southwest of Chattogram, 520 km West of Cox's Bazar, 285 km West-Southwest of Mongla and 340 km West-Northwest of Payra. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and cross North Odisha coast during next 24 hours. Under its influence squally weather may affect the Maritime Ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh. Maximum sustained wind speed within 44 km of the Depression centre is about 40 kph rising to 50 kph in gusts/squalls.
